What Are Blocks & Libraries?
The essentials for using items in Rayon 🪑
What is a Block?
Let’s say you want to use the same element multiple times across your drawings (a chair, a desk, or a door, for instance).
For the sake of time and consistency, you might want to ensure that you will be able to change all the instances of this block at once by only changing one of them. Blocks do precisely that!
In Rayon, blocks can be found in the left-side panel:
What is a Block Library?
Libraries are collections of blocks that can be imported or created to be used across your models and by the rest of your team.
You can either use Rayon's libraries or create your own library.
Using Block Libraries 🪑
Using Rayon's block library is super simple:
Click on the
Blocks
icon in the Panel Bar.There, you will find a list of all existing libraries, divided into:
Your libraries
Libraries were shared with you
Rayon's libraries
From there, you can either click to open a library or search for a block in the search bar.
You can drag and drop blocks from the Block panel onto the canvas 🎉
You can also create your own Block Library.
Where Can I Find More Blocks?
You may be looking for more blocks that are not in the default Rayon libraries. That’s why we have created a 2,000+ library of blocks just for you!
Everything from kitchen blocks to sports facilities, housing or office space items, or even public transportation is available on KITS, our free block repository.
Any item found on Kits can be downloaded freely and uploaded to Rayon! 🚀
