Presenting your project

How to create a presentation for your project and share it

PreviousPublishing a templateNextProduct Updates

Last updated 22 days ago

We have previously covered how to share a model with other Rayon users in Sharing a model or a workspace.

Here we are going to explain how to create a presentation of your pages that you can share externally to clients or others.

The core principle of this feature is that you can create a presentation (think slides for your pages) that will show all the pages you have defined inside your project.

Previewing your presentation

Before publishing your presentation, you may want to check how it will appear for the people you share it with.

From inside your project, click the chevron next to the Present button at the left of the Share button, then click on Preview.

Your pages are displayed in the same order as in your Pages panel.

From the Preview screen, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • P to toggle the Pages view

  • F to toggle the fullscreen view

  • Esc to leave the Preview

At this point, your presentation is still private: you will need to publish it in order to get a shareable URL.

Publishing your presentation

Once you're happy with your presentation, you can publish it to make it available externally on a public link.

There are two paths to publish a presentation: directly from from the Editor, or through the Share menu.

From the Editor, click the Present button (either next to Share or inside the dropdown menu)

This will both publish the presentation and present it in a new tab.

From the Share menu:

  • From the Editor, click the Share button in the top right corner

  • In the Presentation tab, switch the toggle on for Publish Presentation

Your presentation is now published!

Sharing the link

From the Share menu, click the Copy button to copy the presentation's URL to your clipboard.

Anyone you share the link with will be able to access your presentation without having to create a Rayon account.

Viewing the presentation

From the main Editor screen, click the Present button to present an already published presentation.

Alternatively, from the Share menu, click the Open button to open your presentation in a new tab and experience it exactly how your clients will see it.

The same keyboard shortcuts from Previewing your presentation are applicable in the public presentation viewer.

Making edits

As your project moves forward and you make changes that you want to show again in your presentation, you can refresh your presentation to publish your changes:

  • From inside your project, click the Share button in the top right corner

  • In the Presentation tab, click the Refresh button

Publishing a presentation generates a single permanent link per project: the people you share the link with will be able to see your changes by opening the same link.

Unpublishing your presentation

If for some reason you want to make your presentation private again, you can unpublish it:

  • From inside your project, click the Share button in the top right corner

  • In the Presentation tab, switch the toggle off for Publish Presentation

Your presentation is now unpublished. Anyone opening the original link will not be able to access the presentation.

We're always available!
