# Text, Tags & Annotations

## Adding text to your model can be essential at times. <a href="#h_90f7087bc5" id="h_90f7087bc5"></a>

Text, tags, and annotations allow you to mark a surface area, give a tag to a room, provide information, and more.

The tools can be found on the bottom toolbar:

* In the toolbar, select the `Text` tool.
* Click on the canvas to insert the text box.
* In the Properties sider, in Text, you can edit the text and its alignment in the box.
* Finally, you can change text style (font, size, and color). To do so, select the text. On the Properties panel, click on the `Ab` button.
* Click the `+` button to create a new style. Now you can:
  * Select a color
  * Select a font
  * Select a size

* In the toolbar, select the `Tag` tool.
* In the canvas, select the edge of a Path you want to assign the tag to.
* In the Properties sider, in Text, you can edit the tag’s text.
* Using the `{surface}` syntax, you can add the area of the path to the tag.
* Finally, you can change the text style in the right properties sidebar. There, you can modify the color, font, and size.

* In the bottom toolbar, select the `Arrow` tool.
* Draw an arrow on the canvas.
* Click on the arrow and then on the right-side styles panel to set the arrow's color, line width, and shape on one or both ends.
* You can also edit the arrow line to be an arc by selecting the arrow and then the `Edit (E)` command.
