Everything About Sharing

How To Share Your Work With Others 🤝

By this point, you might want to share your work with others.

Different scenarios are possible here:

🔗 You might only need to show your drawings to someone!

📧 You might want to work together on a model.

🏘️ You might even need to collaborate on multiple files with others.

That is why Rayon offers different ways to share your work while keeping an adequate level of control over the process!

Quickly Share a File → Create a Link 🔗

Creating a share link is the simplest way to send your work to someone.

Here is how to do just that:

  • Click on the Share button

  • Enable public link access

  • Click on the Copy button

  • That’s it! You can now send your link

It is important to note that:

  • People will not be able to make a copy or edit your work

  • People will only be able to move around, measure, comment and annotate your work

  • A link can always be recalled (either turned off or refreshed)

Work Together on a Model → Use an Email Invite 📧

You can also invite people using their email address.

This can be done either from your workspace, or from within a file, in the sharing options.

Here is a quick demo:

Invitees can be assigned specific access levels, that can be changed at all time. The following roles can be assigned:

  • A Reader can view, measure, comment and annotate a model

  • An Editor can edit, view, measure, comment and annotate a model

  • An Admin can do all the above, while also being able to delete a model, or invite colleagues

Share Multiple Files → Set up a Workspace 🏘️

You can easily share multiple files, by inviting your team to a workspace.

Let’s first create a new workspace by:

  • Selecting the Add Workspaces button on the left bar

  • Naming our new workspace

  • Clicking the Create button

That’s it, our new workspace is ready!

Now, we can add a few files to be shared, and invite colleagues to this workspace!

  • Simply click on the Manage button

  • Add your colleague’s email

  • And click the Add button

At any time, a workspace can be deleted, and the following settings can be changed:

  • The users’ list and their access rights

  • Your workspace name

  • Your workspace access configurations

And that's all you need to know about sharing and! 🙌
