Editing Commands
Edit and apply changes to existing elements on your canvas 🛠️
Let's look into the edition tools at your disposal for changing elements or creating custom layouts! 💪
Scale
Shortcut → S
To scale a single element, select the
Scale (S)
tool and then the element, followed by the "Done" button on the bottom command bar.Now, click on the first point to scale from, and then either click a second point to scale manually or enter a scale ratio.
To scale the whole model, click on
Scale (S)
, and switch between theScale Selection (S)
to theScale Model (M)
buttons that appear above the bottom command bar 📐
Move
Shortcut → MM
Move a component by clicking on it and dragging it across the canvas. 💡 By holding the
Shift
you can lock the rotation to 90 degrees!Or, move a component from a specific point by clicking the
Move (MM)
command and then the component. Then, pick the point you would like to move it from and insert a distance.
Rotate
Shortcut → RR
Select the element you wish to rotate and hover over its selection box corner in order to rotate it manually. 💡 By holding the
Shift
you can lock the rotation to 90 degrees!Or select the
Roatate (RR)
command and then the element. Now, select a starting point to rotate from, and rotate manually or type an angle for rotation.
Mirror
Shortcut → MI
To mirror an object, click on the
Mirror (MI)
command, then on the object itself, and then "Done". Then, pick a point to mirror from, and click on the canvas.You can either copy an object to be mirrored or move the object itself by switching between the buttons that appear above the command bar, as seen in the GIF above!
Copy
Shortcut → CC
or Alt
+ Drag
Select the
Copy (CC)
command and then the element you wish to copy, and "Done". Then select the specific point you wish to copy it from, and simply click on the canvas to locate the copied element. You can also insert an exact distance before locating it.Lastly, click the "Done" button on the bottom toolbar (or
Enter
).You can also copy an element by selecting it and clicking
Alt
+ Drag. AddShift
to get an orthogonal copy!
Explode
Shortcut → X
Choose the
Explode (X)
command to turn a polyline shape into singular lines.
Join
Shortcut → J
To join open-ended lines, use the
Join (J)
command as demonstrated above.
Trim
Shortcut → TR
To trim a geometry, select the
Trim (TR)
tool, then all the elements that intersect, and "Done". Then select the line you wish to delete (it will be marked in red once you hover over it).
Extend
Shortcut → TX
To extend a line, select the
Extend (TX)
tool and then all the elements you wish to extend (including the line you would like to extend them toward), then click on "Done".Now, simply click on the lines you wish to extend.
Offset
Shortcut → OO
To offset a geometry, click on it and then on the
Offset (OO)
.You can then offset it manually or insert a distance!
Chamfer
Shortcut → CH
Select the Chamfer (CH) command and then the element you wish to chamfer, and "Done".
Then select the first element you wish to chamfer, after it the second one, and set a distance by entering a number or clicking on the canvas!
