Pages can be found both in the Page
panel or at the top of the Layer
panel.
A page is how you export what is on your canvas as a PDF or images. Thanks to pages, you can turn drawings into proper document sets.
Pages behave like layers; as with layers:
Pages can get Locked/Unlocked
.
Pages can be Shown/Hidden
.
Pages can be set as active
Pages can host elements; if it is the case, the hosted elements will move as the page gets moved. Note that hosted elements will only be exported to the Page they are hosted in.
Additionally, pages have specific properties:
They have a scale ratio
They have a paper size.
They have an order inside the page panel that defines the page ordering at export.
Create a new page by clicking on the +
button either in the Page
or Layer
panel; this will make a page appear on your canvas. You can then...
Set its size by choosing a page scale in the property panel.
Set its format by choosing a page format in the property panel.
Set its orientation by choosing a page orientation in the property panel.
To create a PDF export, click on the Export All
button in the Page
panel and choose an export format. Once clicked, your PDF should be downloaded right away and be placed in your computer's Downloads folder.
Alternatively, pages can be downloaded as independent PNG images; by choosing PNG
in the export all menu, all pages will get downloaded as a zip folder containing each individual page.
As explained in our page about settings, line strokes' display on screen depends on the Line scale
property. However, when you export your pages to PNG or PDF, the thickness of lines is affected by the properties of the page itself:
the page size (e.g. A4)
the page scale (e.g. 1:50
)
Both are used to compute the exact thickness of lines on the exported document.
Although exporting from a model canvas
is entirely possible, we advise you to create and export your page layouts from a paper canvas
, where line thicknesses are displayed on screen at the same scale as they will appear on paper.
