Refund policy

At Rayon, we strive to provide a reliable and high-quality design software experience. We understand that sometimes, specific situations may require a refund or subscription adjustment. This document outlines the conditions under which refunds are granted, and when they are not applicable.

Valid reasons for refund

We understand that genuine mistakes or technical issues can happen. Refunds may be granted in the following specific circumstances:

1. Major Technical Issue (Reproducible Bug)

If you experience a significant technical malfunction that prevents normal use of the software, and:

  • The issue is reproducible and confirmed by our technical team.

  • Our support team has been informed, and the issue persists despite troubleshooting.

In such cases, we will assess the situation and, if applicable, offer a refund or credit.

2. Mistaken Yearly Subscription Payment

If you intended to purchase a monthly subscription but accidentally completed payment for a yearly subscription, we can assist provided that:

  • You notify our support team within 4 weeks of the purchase date.

  • You have not extensively used the software during that period (evaluated at our discretion).

In this scenario, we can convert your yearly subscription to a monthly plan and refund the difference.

3. Student Discount Eligibility

Rayon offers free access to enrolled students. If you:

  • Purchased a paid plan while being eligible for a free student license.

  • Provide valid proof of active enrollment, such as an institutional email address.

We will refund the current month's payment upon verification. Please note that refunds do not apply retroactively beyond the current billing cycle.

4. Double Charge

You have encountered the situation where our system has billed you twice; though it is really rare, it can happen, and we would of course pay you back, if you can send us proof of payments.

Non-eligible reasons for refund

To maintain fairness and operational clarity, the following situations are not considered valid reasons for refund or subscription cancellation:

  • Lack of Usage: Not using your Rayon account does not qualify for a refund. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled, regardless of usage frequency.

  • Auto Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled; missing the cancelation deadline of forgetting to cancel will not qualify as a valid reason.

  • Preference-Based Dissatisfaction: Deciding that you simply "don't like" the software, or finding that it does not match personal preferences after purchase, is not grounds for a refund.

  • Changing Needs or Project Status: If your projects change, are canceled, or you no longer need Rayon, these are not considered valid reasons for a refund.

  • Third-Party Expectations: Refunds will not be issued based on comparisons with other software or unmet expectations based on external reviews.

We strongly encourage all users to explore our offering and feature set before committing to a paid plan to ensure Rayon meets your needs.

How to request a refund

To request a refund under the eligible scenarios outlined above:

  2. Provide relevant details such as:

  • Your registered email address.

  • Description of the issue or refund reason.

  • Any required proof (e.g., institutional email for student verification).

Final notes

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

  • We reserve the right to decline refund requests that fall outside the conditions stated above.
