Units & precision

The units and the decimal/fraction precision of lengths and areas can be fine-tuned in your models.

Stroke scale

In Rayon, stroke weights are measured in paper size (e.g. 0.5mm or1/64"), that is, the size at which the thickness of lines will be on a printed paper, and therefore how they are displayed in any of your paper canvases.

However, you may want to mangify your line weights, to make them be more visible across your work: that's when the Stroke scale property can be useful. It allows you to tune how lines appear on your screen. This allows you to change the appearance of line thicknesses while you work on any of your model canvases.

The stroke scale can be accessed in the canvas settings (it will be tunable in any model canvas, and fixed to 1:1 in ay paper canvas)...

...and can be also found in the Stroke menu of styles.

Loop Mode

In Rayon, Loop mode allows you to keep the current command active after completing an operation.

For example, when drawing a line in the default mode— called Once mode — the command ends after the line is drawn. With Loop Mode active, the command remains active, letting you continue drawing as many shapes as needed without reactivating the tool. Loop Mode is currently supported for the following commands:

  • Line / Curves / Circle / Rectangle / Arc / Dimensions / Arrow / Guidelines / Polylines / Walls / Zone / Opening / Zone Divider.

To activate Loop Mode:

  • Start one of the supported commands listed above

  • Press L to toggle between Once Mode and Loop Mode

  • Draw shapes by Clicking according to instructions. ⚠️ Validating with Enter or Space will exit the command.

To exit Loop Mode during a command, you can:

  • Press ESC

  • Click on Done

  • Press Enter Or Space
