Walls & Zones
Creating a floor plan starts with setting up the enclosure: walls, doors, and windows. Then, you can add some zones to the different areas!🚪
The wall, opening and zone tools can be found in the bottom toolbar;
Drawing Walls
Draw floor plans quickly using the
Wall (W)
tool. You can choose between drawing from the wall's centerline or selecting theAlign Left (L)
orAlign Right (R)
buttons. You can draw and edit wall placements by entering a dimension input.
The width and color of the walls can be changed through the style editor.
You can create a curved wall by clicking on a wall and then moving its middle edition point (like you can see in the GIF above).
Adding a Door & Window to a Wall
Now we are ready to add openings to the walls: a door and window.
First, select a door or window from the "Opening" library.
Then, place the opening by dragging and dropping, like in the GIF above!
You can set an opening's placement within a wall by dragging its middle blue line.
Placing Zones
Each room can be tagged using the
Zone (Z)
tool with a simple click! You can add a
Zone Divider (DV)
and change the zone's style, as you can see above (for more info about that, check out our Styles page). Then, you can change the name of a zone by clicking on the surface and modifying its name in the upper right panel.
You can also use the zone tool without a walled enclosure: simply trace the area you would like to add a zone to manually!
